He played in 38 matches for Brazil's senior team, from 1986 through 1992, including matches in the 1986 and 1990 FIFA World Cups. The front of the jersey features the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) logo with three stars representing Brazil's three FIFA World Cup championships in 1958, 1962 and 1970. On the back of the jersey is Pereira's number 20 in green tackle twill numbering. Size 10.
