Vintage Tin Steam Mold c1900 A nice homey vintage pudding mold in great shape. This fun find dates to over 100 years old and has developed a handsome patina. Steam pudding molds were used for making puddings, steamer cakes, breads and whatever you'd like to experiment with. Hand-soldered by a tinsmith, the mold has a flat base, an internal spine for thorough cooking and a handle applied to the lid. There are metal loops on the side of the lid and the body, for securing the lid to the body when steaming. The seams have been skillfully double folded for strength. In exceptionally good condition with no dings, pings, holes or other imperfections. A good oxidation to the exterior; the interior is clean. The mold bidy is 6"H. With the lid in place, it is about 7 1/2"H. Base diameter of 4 1/4" and top 5 7/8". Whether you are just beginning to collect, or you're a seasoned collector, you'll love this little bit of culinary history.
