Antique Brass Ship Masthead Lantern 19th Century With Provenance PapersThe lantern was purchased at from an antiques dealer in Athens, Greece in 1971. The certificate from the antiques dealer reads:"This is to certify that the ship lantern purchased by Mr. Marvin is an authentic kerosene-oil one over one hundred years old."The certificate is dated October 17, 1971 and stamped and signed by the dealer. The certificate is accompanied by a hand written receipt which reads:Receipt for $50-Received $50 from Mr Marvin for an antique ship lanternAthens, Oct 17,1971 The receipt has been stamped and signed by the dealer as well. The lantern weighs about 6 pounds. From the base to the top of the handle is about 16 1/2 inches tall. From the base to the top excluding the handle is about 14 inches.
