Schwemmlein GMBH made in West Germany.Limited edition Steins & Plates,commemorating the Friendship Fire Company of Alexandria Virginia founded in 1774 with George Washington as a charter member.The Friendship Fire Company of Alexandria is thought to be the nations oldest fire company.These are limited edition steins & plates.The larger stein is limited to 250 while the small stein is limited to 500. Plates are limited to 750 each.The larger stein ,7", has gold plated rings and pewter lid .Highly collectible as I have not seen another set of Old World Stein Club steins and plates such as these.I purchased these plates & steins in July 1984 and never displayed them . Actually opened the boxes to inspect and taped them shut again. Now opened for pictures and time to downsize.
