BOUVIER'S BUCHU GIN on one panel. The shoulders and neck has a fancy fluted design to them. Buchu gin was made when pure gin was poured through a mat filled with buchu leaves. The gin was allowed to percolate through much like water through coffee beans in a machine. It contained about 46% alcohol. A lawsuit was brought by the Bouvier company so as not to have to pay alcohol tax on its products. It said the buchu leaves had medicinal properties and that is was a medical compound not a liquor beverage. The company lost and continued to have to pay a tax...nice try though.
