Up for your consideration is a replication of a prehistoric artifact originally created by the now extinct Mimbres Culture that once flourished in the southwestern deserts of the Americas approximately one thousand years ago. Where this prehistoric Native American culture went; why they disappeared is unknown and left only to our conjecture. What we do know is that they were a diverse and artistic culture that left behind a legacy of pictures rendered upon small ceramic bowls which depicted a highly stylized representation of the natural world which surrounded them. At Starling Black Studio we attempt to replicate these original artifacts by creating authentic appearing reproductions of them.
