Senator Walter Mondale 1974 Signed Letter – Pesticides Walter Mondale served as United States Senator representing MN from 1964 – 1976 and went on to become Vice-President under Jimmy Carter. This up for your consideration is a response to a letter written to the Senator regarding the use of pesticides on Water Hyacinth in Florida and sale of oil to the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong. It is written on United States Senator Letterhead stationary and has no tears or markings. Senator Mondale’s signature is nice, clear and beautiful. The letter signed by Senator Mondale comes stapled to a letter signed by Emmett C Lee Jr from the Army Corps of Engineers on official Department of the Army Letterhead Stationary. The letter from the Army Corps of Engineers comes with an enclosure of another letter written to the original recipient regarding subject of Water Hyacinth pesticides. Letters have been stored flat in a page protector for many years and all 3 are stapled together. Recipients name has been covered by sticky post-it to protect identity but can be easily removed by buyer. The correspondence up for your consideration is dated April 25th, 1974, However; there is a companion letter on the same subject dated April 18th, 1974 also being sold on ebay separately. See Photo. In addition, there is another letter responding to the subject of the Water Hyacinth pesticide use signed by Hubert Humphrey dated April 26th, 1974 with an attached letter from The Department of the Army and study research which is also up for auction on Ebay.
