Haida Tlingit Carved & Painted Board - $6,750 - (Irvine, CA)

Haida or Tlingit carved board. Yellow cedar. 15.75" x 11" x 1.5”. Crude writing on back "Hand carved by" then incised "Viroqua". This writing does not seem consistent with the careful execution of the art on the front side. Someone probably did this later. As you can see from pictures, very well and carefully done. See similar design patterns on Haida / Tlingit boxes in Canada museum online. Almost identical to this. Will be adding a couple more unique items in a few weeks.
