1997 Canada “$8 GRIZZLY BEAR” Commemorative Set featuring the $8 Grizzly Bear – the highest value definitive ever issued by Canada Post. The set includes: 1) A limited-edition black engraved print (#1461/2500), in presentation folder, die-sunk on wove paper. The mint condition print measures approximately 6½” x 4½” and is signed and numbered by master artist engraver Jorge Peral of the Canadian Bank Note Co. (see photos). 2) A pane of four mint never hinged stamps, in presentation folder, with the pane signed by designer Alain Leduc and master artist-engraver Jorge Peral (see photos). 3) A booklet to hold the signed limited-edition engraved print and the signed pane of four stamps. The booklet is in excellent condition and measures approximately 7¼” x 8” (see photos). This stamp was manufactured with a combination of lithography and line engraving. To help prevent counterfeiting, the dollar value, 8, is discreetly included in the bear's right hind leg (see photo #9). Each stamp measures approximately 2½” x 2”.
