The BMT 94 is the narrowest ski in the three-model V-Werks BMT line of fat-but-light touring skis. It sacrifices some of the deep snow flotation of the wider models (BMT 109 and BMT 122), but gains a measure of quickness and hardpack performance the other two lack. And it's lighter: just 1,570 grams in the 186-cm length. The BMT series comprises three models ranging in width from 94 mm to 122 mm. All are wide by backcountry touring standards-for optimal flotation in deep backcountry snow-but Volkl's premium V-Werks construction keeps the weight down at every opportunity. All are wood-core, carbon-rich constructions featuring Volkl's 3D Ridge construction: A raised ridge down the center of the ski allows the ski to be thinner, lighter, and more sensitive over the edges yet just as strong torsionally and longitudinally. Volkl sells pre-cut, glueless skins to match each BMT model.
