A vintage stamped copper, brass, and tin matchstick holder. Made for wall hanging at the hearth, fireplace, or kitchen for lighting stoves, fires, and candles. A large heart is embossed in the center of the copper front along with various other hammered decorative designs including a stamped French fleur de lis at the back with an opening for wall mounting. Holds long, loose fireplace matches or works well as a holder for a box of large kitchen matches. Strikers on the sides are worn, but probably still have what it takes to strike a match. Replace the strikers with strips of fine sandpaper! Bottom is stamped 44/10 MADE IN SWEDEN. Good vintage condition with charming discoloration and wear. Measures 8.5" high X 4" wide X 1.375" deep.
