Long story short, Asgrow, first formed as Associated Seed Growers, a seed company formed by a bunch of successful 19th-century Connecticut seed moguls in 1927. By the mid-to-late 1950s, the company grew leaps and bounds and cultivated millions of acres of seeds. As with most of the America's 19th and early 20th century purveyors of note, Asgrow was eventually acquired by a number of different corporate behemoths, including pharmaceutical giant Upjohn and Monsanto, which owns the formerly humble seed co-op today. We rescued this great ad from a 1947 home and garden magazine and trimmed away any heavier age browning from the edges - all set for you to mount, frame, use in your crafting or throw in an acrylic frame or magnet back and decorate your fridge or retro den - or hang it out in the greenhouse. ;) 12" X 4.75" We ship in cello bags, between cardboard and in poly mailers.
