Systems Engineer - Technical Lead (Mainframe) Purpose: UPMC is looking for an experienced Mainframe operating system engineer who will be part of a Team responsible for day-to-day management and administration of the mainframe computing environment. Assignments include management and administration of the operating system and all related software, management of all hardware including 2 mainframes (both production and in-house disaster recovery), dedicated storage, and virtual tape systems. This position mandates a positive relationship with the application support team to ensure end user expectations for mainframe performance and availability are met. The mainframe environment primarily supports the Medipac application which is responsible for corporate-wide hospital registration and billing. Under the direction of management, the Systems Engineer - Lead maintains systems, leads, assigns, and monitors projects, provides end user support, manages team documentation, and initiates process improvement.
