This auction is for a rare 58th Exhibition of American Painting and Sculpture presented by the Art Institute of Chicago from November 6, 1947 – January 11, 1948. It is a soft bound book & the size is approx. 7-1/2” x 10-1/4”. The condition is very good considering its age. There are some marks on the back page and back inside cover. There is plastic on it to protect it from the elements. Some of the plastic is missing on the top of the book. Along with this book is a 4 page listing of the prize winners (7-1/4” x 10-1/8”), including Harry Bertoia, Serge Chermayeff, Alexander Calder & many more including honorable mention. There is also a booklet for Evening School & Saturday classes celebrating the 69th year of the school. Also included is a gallery offering with dates & attached to the front inside cover a list of Museums of Chicago. There are other famous designers, painters and architects mention with some of the works pictured in this very exciting book such as Jackson Pollock, Georgia O’Keefe, Isamu Noguchi & many more too numerous to mention.
