I just found this scrapbook in an estate and it was a direct family descendant. i guess one would say the highlights of which are the 3 signatures of Helen Stephens AKA The Fulton Flash. the mind blowing one is the postcard sent to her friend Frances Lee Netherton in Sedalia MO on 7-30-1936 from the women's dormitory at Reichssportfeld in Berlin Germany. this postcard has the 1936 Berlin Olympics logo and postmark and stamp. her note on the back tells a story i have never heard about as her having shin splints before winning 2 gold medals in front of Adolph Hitler doing the USA quite proud of course at the same time Jesse Owens was busting his chops as well. she also mentions that Stella had arrived yesterday. im sure referring to Stella Walsh. the second signed postcard was sent from a track meet in march of 1936 from Toronto Canada where she tells Frances we took the trophy's away in big style. she also autographed the page by her standing by an archery target. i believe just these items are priceless and no other items have been on the market that even come close to this. now we add on the source of these ultra rare items and that is the scrapbook of her aforementioned friend Frances. Frances has written on the inside cover of this very large packed scrapbook, Frances Lee Netherton Willam Woods College Oct. 29 1935 then there are pages and pages about 3 1/2 inches thick of many other items related to her and school functions and about everything one would find in old scrapbooks from college there is some very interesting things here as well. i didn't see anything else related to Helen Stephens in there but of course they both went to school there st the same time. i dont know if they were room mates or anything like that. i wish i could have added more pictures.…
