RARE 1946 CLEVELAND SESQUICENTENNIAL ENGAGEMENT CALENDAR--PHOTOS BY PERRY CRAGG - $40 - (Cleveland, OH)

This spiral-bound engagement calendar was published in 1946 in honor of the 150th anniversary of the city of Cleveland. The book is titled "THIS IS CLEVELAND: 1796 - Sesquicentennial Year Book - 1946". The book was published by the Cleveland News in cooperation with the Cleveland Sesquicentennial Commission. Each page represents one week, with a photograph of Cleveland on the facing page. The photographs were taken by Perry Cragg. All the photos are black and white, with some shaded brown or green. Photos include Cleveland landmarks, including Municipal Stadium, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Terminal Tower, and so on. Size measures 8" x 6-1/4". Engagement calendar is in pretty good condition for its age, although some pages are yellowed and there is some shelf wear, particularly along the edges. This is a wonderful look back at Cleveland in its post-war heyday. Item comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home.
