Antique English Victorian Oak Traveling Tantalus Liquor Box With Decanters - $1,400 - (Ashland, VA)

A fine quality 19th century English golden oak and brass traveling tantalus liquor and game box with three cut glass decanters. Inside are four whiskey glasses and two remaining cordial glasses that fit into designated compartments. Multiple game chips fill the drawer. A brass plaque on top is engraved, “To Mr. W. J. Ridley from the Staff of Hyde Court, 1895.” The box also has an emblem stating, “Patent 191 O.S. 09 London.” I purchased this box from an antique dealer near Cambridge, England in 2003 and am downsizing my antique box collection. Very heavy and secure box with Bramah lock and key. Excellent condition!
