PINES HOTEL, PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS ANTIQUE CITY AND STATE FOLDING MAP, MARCH 1923 From 1923, a rare antique item...front says ARKANSAS POCKET MAP State of Arkansas ....and.... City of Pine Bluff Presented By, Publication of HOTEL PINES, Pine Bluff, Ark. (earlier version of the type a Chamber Of Commerce offers visitors) Back of fold-over map cover says The Pine Bluff Company Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and has an A in a circle with a lightning bolt, representing the electric company of the period. Says Electrical, Water And Street Railway Services, also, Power For Industries At Low Cost. Folded closed, the measurement is 6 ½" x 5". Map itself opened out measures 40" x 24", and is attached to one side of the folded cover interior, with some of the actual glue remaining. One side is: Map Of Highway System State Of Arkansas March 1923. Other side has the complete city map/street listing of Pine Bluff. Also included are business listings, banks, theatres, churches, schools, etc., along with many black and white photographic images illustrating places of note. In very large letters above some of the images, says The City Of Gigantic Industries, Unparalleled Schools. Other large verbiage on page says The City Of Magnificent Churches, Beautiful Homes. It’s a stunner! Outside cover is a little fragile and has splitting and a little damage, but all info present. Owner stamp on front. The huge inside map is in surprisingly good shape, looks great, all info readable and fine. Awesome, historical memento!
