Antique French bed curtain panel 1850 floral pink GRAY grey cotton passementerie - $895 - (Burlington, VT)

GLORIOUS ~ a stunning and rare  , textile find ~*~ this wonderful bed curtain dates c1850 and is French ~*~This stunning textile was hung from a ciel de lit above a bed. The small side panel is turned in the opposite direction for the turn so earch printed side was viewed ~ a wonderful find!! ~*~   It is simply stunning. The fabric used to make this large curtain panel printed using both roller printing techniques and hand carved wooden blocks ~ there is a beautiful pale gray ground pattern, tiny picotage designed floral and stripe patterns ~ remarkably well printed. The floral design is the most wonderful pinks and reds, with grey ground ~ STUNNING texture of cotton with the most wonderful hand made trim along the side!! ~ STUNNING , I've never seen another like it ~  ~ it is truly amazing to find this textile in such wonderful condition. This large panel is made by hand stitching 4.5 widths of this glorious fabric together. The bottom is finished with a hand stitched hem. This panel is not backed or linen, just the wonderful light weight printed cotton fabric ~ an amazing textile find. ( please see my other textiles for the matching quilt) ~ ! (#48)  MEASUREMENTS: This wonderful textile measures 99 inches long and the width is 147 inches wide at the bottom and where it is gathered at the top, the width is 65 inches wide ~ ~ CONDITION :This panel is in gorgeous condition for it's age! Unwashed and stunning.
