antique ladies writing desk and matching chair - $899 - (Lafayette, LA)

This lovely Edwardian style time period, has a leather top, with initials & hand-writing, onto the top of the leather's surface, families pre-owned and decided to take "the privilege", and signing, etc. Notice the engraved pattern trimming/edging the entire leather top, with the brass armalou onto the desk, chair, and bottom, of legs of desk. Both desk and chair has lovely marquetry on sides of desk and top/front of desk chair..Has a repair, at bottom of front-lower area of the desk. When purchase, at the time, and I knew, it was NOT a professional repair, and never bothered to have it professionally repaired, because I thought it was hardly noticeable. The cain, on the desk chair, is in good solid condition!! Back in those days "ink" was used.... With this desk, you will find, those ink spillage areas... in obvious places. The round mirror also shows the age, but again, that depicts the time period.....Also, RARE, about this desk set, it is extremely hard to find," a matching chair"!!! You can find a set, but it will be priced in "the thousands"!!! and some will be reproductions!! If any more info. is needed, please don't hesitate and ask...thank you...Local pick-up only!!!!
