For your consideration is an antique scales made of brass cast iron. On one end of the base is embossed writing that says: PROPERTY OF U.S. P.O. DEPT. On the opposite end, is embossed writing that says: FAIRBANKS. It will weigh up to 9 ounces in 1/2 ounce increments with both sides of the brass beam being marked. The maximum length is almost 9 1/4". The brass table is approximately 2 3/4" wide & 3 3/4" wide. The base is 4 1/2" X 3 3/8". This scales is an old item that was used. The brass table is bent and dented. The original black paint and the original gold pin striping & décor has issues. Otherwise, it is in OK used condition and it works.
