Eckels, New York, transit in very good condition, in its original case in not so good condition. F. Eckels (1835-1898) manufactured surveyors instruments in New York from 1873 until 1875, becoming Eckels and Imhoff in that year. The instrument is complete. The case is damaged on the hinge side, needing repairs to the wood at both the box and the door, and missing one hinge, with the remaining hinge centered on the stile. Serial number 954. The case measures 16 1/4" by 12 1/4" by 8 3/4". Missing accessories.
