This unit is in full working order as well as the remote. There are some scratches on the front face and some heavy and light scratches on the top face. The HDMI does work however please note that this unit runs on HDMI 1.0 and may not communicate well with newer TVs. This is not a flaw with the unit, it is just just the nature of HDMI 1.0. I have had good luck with first and second generation HD TVs, tube TV's with HDMI (best option) and modern TV's with alot of HDMI control options.
