This Burwood Products Company New Haven style Clock is a rare and unusual find. The movement is a Franz Hermle unit from Germany and the face is also made in Germany.The original inspection tag (see pictures) shows the manufacture date to be 1982.The clock and the chime run well.The clock is a regulator style wall hanging or free standing unit.The condition is very good except for some minor wear around the key holes (see pictures).To hear the chime and see the clock in operation please watch the video below. The Burwood Products Company, a wall decor and clock manufacturer, of Traverse City, Michigan made small items from burwood, a composite wood/plastic material that can be injection molded. They also made whimsical designs on buttons. The Company was originally housed in the old Owosso Carriage and Sleigh Company building on Milwaukee Avenue until it burned in December of 1932. Burwood closed its doors in 1997 when bankruptcy restructuring failed Hermle ClocksHermle Clocks Nearly one hundred years ago, Franz Hermle began manufacturing and selling mechanical clocks.
