General Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor-Housekeeping, performs a variety of general and specialized cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital. Assists in housekeeping department as needed to lift, move and relocate furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. Duties and Responsibilities: one Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors. two Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required. three Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. as directed. four Shampoos rugs and furniture. Cleans vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines. five Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums. six Sets up chairs and tables, etc. for special events and folds and stores them after the event. seven Moves large items in and out of storage. eight Performs custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned when not involved in moving projects.
