1700's 19" Largest Marine Quadrant/Octant - Ebony Frame, Bone Scales - $900 - (Kalispell, MT)
This is a nice example of an early unsigned very large marine quadrant dating to the 1700s. Appears to be in good used cond. and the arm on this quadrant is 19 inches long, making it a much larger instrument than a standard 12 inch octant making it much more rare. There is no box or anything else with this, just what you see in the photos. There are a few deficiencies I noticed while taking the photos: The oval wood frame around 1 of the 2 peep sights is broke off, peep sight still securely in place, the locking clamp mechanism to lock the arm is missing, the bone name plate and back plate are missing, and one of the colored lenses has a crack in it. Postage is $30.00 if within the US, more if you are outside the USA; no charge for careful packing.
