That operation ran just one shift a day. The press was sold to a US customer several years ago, and the IST UV curing system was replaced with a new expanded version that would better suit the needs of the end customer. The system was built and installed in 2006, is in good condition with few hours considering the age (average 11,000 hours on the UV modules). It is currently crated in storage at IST America in Shorewood IL and has been stored for the last three years. This system uses IST conventional transformer lamp power supplies, a technology proven to be the most reliable, bullet proof UV curing system ever produced. Since it was built for a European installation, it was configured as a 400 volt 50Hz system. That means the end customer will need a transformer to convert the normal 480 volt US power to 400 volts. Also, and more important, the 50Hz system will be connected to the US 60Hz supply (if it is installed in the US). This will result in a difference in performance by up to approximately 30%. That being said, with six total lamps @ 200W/cm, three being in the end of press position, curing should not be an issue. This is the primary reason the system is being offered at a fraction of its replacement cost. If in the future, the end customer wants to upgrade the power supplies to the 60HZ version, that can be done with relative ease via IST America. The system needs to be installed on a Heidelberg CD 102 format machine with extended delivery. In addition to the main power transformer, the customer will be responsible for providing a cold water supply to the IST provided water to water heat exchanger.
