1000 BC - ANCIENT BRONZE LURISTAN IBEX AMULET Excellent original conditon 1 7/8 - $129 - (Lawton, OK)

Luristan or Lurestan bronze amulet from about 1000 BC. Ancient Persian or what is today known as Iran, this is from a Western Province in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. Its in great condition with nice green patina on the rams head and the edges of the neck area. There is ribbing on the horns and the eyes bulge out significantly. The size of this is 1 7/8 inches by 1 3/16 inches or 4.8 cm by 3.3 cm. See photos. The bag has 35 mm but that is an error unless they were only measuring the head length. I measured the head at 33 mm. Notice the hole in the middle of the neck area for threading a cord to hang it.
