LYNYRD SKYNYRD FREEBIRD WONDERLAND JACKET OWNED AND WORN BY BAND MEMBER BOB BURNS This is a guaranteed authentic tour style jacket distributed by the legendary Winterland Productions in 1982 to promote Lynyrd Skynyrd's original release of ‘Best of the Rest’, a posthumous compilation album which contained two previously unreleased early recordings by the band from 1971 and 1972. This particular jacket is one of the VIP complementary promos sent to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s drummer in the early years of the band, Bob Burns. The backside of the jacket label still bears Winterland’s inscription 'LYNYRD SKYNYRD, DRUMMER BOB BURNS' indicating to whom the jacket was to be sent. Bob Burns owned the jacket from 1982 through approximately 1995 when he gave the jacket, now too small to wear, to a friend and neighbor Yvonne Steck in Marietta, GA. Yvonne kept the jacket until 2006 when it was sold on Craiglist to the current owner. Before selling she contacted Bob to authentic the jacket for her, which he kindly did (See her original Craigslist ad and notarized document authenticating). The buyer and current owner, Larry Daniels of Atlanta, GA was so delighted with the jacket he built a wooden display case for it where it has been kept up to this day. Larry, also a friend as well as a big fan, had Bob Burns sign the case while over visiting his home one day a few years back (picture of Larry & Bob attached). Although loath to sell this treasure owned and worn by one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Greats, Larry feels it is time to pass ‘the baton’ to someone new to cherish and proudly display. The display case is quite large measuring 41 ½” T x 29 ½” W x 3” D. Made of wood the internal case back is decorated with stars and bars in the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd style to showcase the jacket.
