Antique 19th Century Ottoman Empire Yatagan Turkish Sword - $750 - (Dresden, ME)

This is a very fine Turkish sword that is 33.50” (84 cm) in length with a 28” (71cm) blade. The blade is very strong and robust with a thick “T” spine. There is a fine silver inlay on the blade in Arabic writing (perhaps the owner’s name) and several different decorations. One of the decorations appears to be a snake and is repeated on the other side of the blade. The handle is all metal and makes for an incredibly strong and powerful fighting weapon. The overall condition is antique excellent. The blade has been sharpened and is razor sharp. There is some age discoloration of the blade and handle and a very small amount of stabilized corrosion.
