Antique Norwegian Rosemaled Immigrant Travel Trunk Folk Art 1816. Original Rosemaling folk art with the initials JWD and the date 1816 painted on the front. The lock and key are in very good working condition. The trunk has a lovely patina with wear from age and travel. Two newer screws have been attached to the hand made iron hinge on the inside of the trunk lid and in the lidded side box are two hand forged black iron nails, apparently to replace the screws. ( I will let the experts replace them). The flat top on this immigrant trunk makes it lovely for an end table or coffee table. The trunk is in solid condition and measures approximately 36 3/4" wide, 19" tall and 18 1/4" deep. Local pick up only or I will work with you to arrange a shipping service to pick up the trunk.
