The book consists of 14 pages of descriptive text followed by 52 high-detail plates, printed one to a leaf. No dustjacket, apparently as issued. The black cloth covers show some wear, including significant damage at the spine top. The binding is firm. The text has mild foxing, otherwise in fine shape. The first page bears the decorative owner bookplate of Charles and Fredericka Child, relatives and close companions of Julia Child. A scarce collector's item, usually listing for $500 or more.
