VERY LARGE AND IMPORTANT ALMOST 500 YEAR OLD SIGNAL CANNON DATED1535 DUG IN THE FORT TICONDEROGA AREA AND ORIGINALLY FROM THE LONERGAN COLLECTION. This is either French or Hessianwith foundry markings letters J EH UNE NASL DER NATO some being very hard to read and others not there. 49 pounds and 10 inches tall. Cast at an angle so that a ball fired would not come straight down. I know of no other cannon of this type that has so much history.
