This is a good almost squared antique hand woven tapestry with silk details. The size is 4 x 3.10 ft. This medieval scene tapestry illustrates a gentleman giving a card to a lady, a poetic metaphor referring to a declaration of love that marks the beginning of a life full of adventures and exploits. The scene takes place in a garden. The characters wear costumes in vogue in the early fifteenth century. It evokes the refined style of the 1400s. The characters are dressed in the style of the fifteenth century, with large coats lined with ermine. The man wears a doublet fitted and short, leaving his legs wearing stockings. He wears shoes that are in fashion since the late fourteenth century. The lady is dressed in a wide dress. Her hair are showing with a cap adorned with pearls. The composition is clear and balanced.
