This wonderful Royal Copenhagen Denmark figurine model number 1145 features a young boy named "The Sandman" with an umbrella holding a container for sand, designed and signed by artist Christian Thomsen who was employed at Royal Copenhagen from 1898 to 1921 and passed away in 1921. This porcelain was issued by the factory in 1954. The figurine is inspired after the character from the book by Hans Christian Anderson. Measures: approx. stands 6 1/4” (16.5 cm) tall and the base is 3” x 3”(7.5 cm). The piece in mint condition is marked on the bottom with the Royal Copenhagen Denmark crown and blue waves seal and the number 1145. The figurine will be a very nice gift for any occasion or a great addition to your collection. No original box is available but will be packed safely for shipping insurance included.
