Wet boards passing through the field cause a change that can be detected by the sensor. This information is sent to the console as a signal, where it is converted to percent moisture content (%MC) by electronics and system software. To make this conversion, the system must know the Thickness, Dimension, and Species of the lumber. This is information you must ivdevelop during your calibration process. Calibration procedures vary slightly from sensor model to sensor model, therefore these procedures will be found in manual(s) accompanying your sensor(s). Once calibration values for the various species and dimension are known, you can change from one species/dimension to another by a simple adjustment on the front panel
