2 Vintage Hawaiian/African WOODEN BUTTONS, 2 3/4" long x 2" across x 3/4" deep - $5 - (Oklahoma City, OK)

I believe these are 2 antique wooden buttons used on grass hula skirts in Hawaii, however, some viewers have said they may be African. I have not located any others that are similar. They are quite large (2 3/4" long x 2" across x 3/4" deep) and appear to be handmade. They are in excellent condition with a nice patina. They do not seem to have any varnish, but are smooth and I think the patina came from years of use and oil from many hands. I have no idea of the type of wood was used.
