Vintage KING LOUIE IOWA Safety Shoe Men's Button Down Bowling Shirt Size ML - $60 - (Dewey, AZ)
Up for consideration is an original vintage KING LOUIE COTTON BOWLING MEN'S BUTTON DOWN SHIRT circa 1950s. This is a classic bowling shirt and it is in fine condition. The sponsor was "Mid-States Safety Shoe Co." (brake repair) and the graphic image on the back features a cartoon of 4 mechanics working on a large brake shoe. Over the pocket on the front, the name "Orville" is embroidered and on the back side, upper left the last name "Minett" appears, again embroidered. On one sleeve it reads, "Elks 98 Des Moines, Iowa". And on the collar there is a small embroidered illustration of a man bowling. The label reads, "King Louie by Holiday". It is also labeled "Permanent Press". The size is marked ML (I wear a medium and it is roomy, but not too big). It measures 23" across from arm pit to arm pit. It is in FINE condition through out with good stitches and no flaws, with the exception of a few very faint stain spots on the sleeve just under the Des Moines lettering (see detail photo). It has been laundered and pressed, so it is ready to wear. A real nice one. Please ask all questions before buying. There are no returns on clothing.
