1820's Antique English Regency Mahogany Wood Brass Kettle Warmer or Planter - $495 - (Dothan, AL)
Offered for sale is an antique mahogany English Regency kettle warmer. It was used in England in the early 1800's to warm the water kettle. Coal was placed in the bottom of the removable brass pail. It was used in the formal areas of the home and when the water was warm, tea was served. Now, it is normally used as a jardiniere for a plant. It is very unusual to find the original kettle with the wood base. The wood pedestal urn measures 19'' tall by 15'' wide & the brass kettle measures 11'' tall by 11.5'' wide . The brass bucket with pail measures 8'' tall by 13.5'' wide. Study the pictures to note the 2 broken strips near the base.
