This clock retains it’s original 8 day spring driven movement with recoil ancor escapement and silk thread suspension. It strikes the hours and halves on a bell with count-wheel striking. Blued steel Breguet hands, blued steel-work. It has been professionally overhauled, regulated, and tested. It strikes correctly and keeps beautiful time. Supplied with correctly fitting modern winding key and correctly fitting and working modern silk thread type pendulum. Beautiful clock retaining most of it’s original gilding and having a nice color and warm patina with crisp gilt bronze Neo-classical castings.The clock features a lady with a bird on her shoulder, she may have had something in her hand.The movement, dial, and case are original to each other. . The front bezel has a beaded decoration. The dial is engine turned and silvered. The dials' Roman numeral hour chapters and minute ring are painted and are somewhat faded. The minute hand is a replacement and is a fairly close but not exact match. I am a European trained antique clock restorer with over 30 years experience and a former Sotheby's clock expert. Member of the NAWCC since 1980. Diploma British Antiques Dealers Association. I guarantee this clock to be original and as represented. The movement has just been fully cleaned and overhauled and runs perfectly. This antique clock will require the pendulum to be hung, the case leveled, and possibly slight regulation.
