Very Rare American made musical instrument by a well documented manufacturer with a showroom in New York City and a factory in Bloomfield New Jersey. This flute can be dated c.1829-36, and is made of boxwood. There is a shrinkage crack on the end section that hopefully shows in the last picture. It is stopped by the silver ferrule. The body of the flute has not been cleaned or polished, except for the silver ferrule that has been cleaned at some point. This is a four section, single key flute. The spacers and end cap are all faux white material indigenous to the New England states at that time. LOWERED THE PRICE JUST NOW! SECTIONS ARE FREE. There are Examples of C. Peloubet flutes in the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM, THE SMITHSONIAN, and the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. One just sold at auction for $650 + 20% buyer's premium. Another is for sale at a West Coast dealer for $900.
