This Repeater Radio is fully functioning and works great for extending/repeating the radio signal of your GPS base station survey. Our engineering firm has switched to 100% VRS survey with internet connection so we no longer need to set up a base station for survey. We have used this system with Trimble R6 and R8 RTK rovers. This radio is FCC compliant, and even though the FCC implemented narrowbanding requirements, the signal range should not decrease. TRIMBLE says:"It depends on the speed of the radio link rate. A 12.5 kHz HPB450 radio can transmit at 4800 bps and stay within the Narrowbanding restrictions. And the radio can use GMSK modulation when set to 4800 bps, so there is no degradation of range. However, RTK surveyors are reporting that 4800 bps is too slow for standard CMR+ or RTCM 3.0 corrections. They must use CMRx corrections when transmitting at 4800 bps. Depending on the terrain of our surveys, our surveyors would receive radio signal, on average, about 2 miles away. When the base station and radio were set up on a high point, the signal would reach even farther. This repeater radio will make your company a lot of money by increasing survey efficiency rates. All necessary components of the radio are included in this package except the tripod legs & deep cell battery. There is a battery connection adapter included in this package.
