ant5546. This early ecru-color, cotton-muslin bag was entirely hand stitched. Early 19th century, found in a Massachusetts estate. Constructed of 3 panels sewn together and lined with a light green, finer cotton fabric. The cone shape is approx. 8 1/2" wide at opened top and 7 1/2" long from top to bottom. The spectacular details are the very tiny stitches made in creating the exterior bird and floral designs. Everything hand done in the minutest stitching. Fabric and stitching is still strong with no tears, but there are some stains (see pic) which I have not attempted to clean. Museum quality!Please do not hesitate to e-mail with any questions.
