longhorns Texas longhorns purchased from 1915 Your looking at a set of 'old school' Texas longhorns purchased by my grandfather in 1915. They measure 4'-8" from tip to tip and have an an aged ivory patina with black tips extending for about 12". The photos were taken ouside, so the color is very accurate The girth at the joints is 4 1/4" in diameter. shown below are the left and right sides where they are joined onto the interior wood core. The right side has a noticable wobble due to the fracture at the joint. I have since removed the pilled and dirty burgundy wrap but left the underlying chamois leather wrap in place. I was going to rewrap it and attach a backboard for stability before advertising it for sale. As they are they will hang just fine without drooping, but I think a new owner will probably want a wrap of their own choosing.
