The Spencer company produced the "Port-Land" lens. As the name says the lens was for PORTrait and LANDwork. Ansel Adams used this the soft focus lens in 1932. Using the small apertures produces a sharp image with good out of focus rendering that works beautifully for landscape photography.Wide open gives a dreamy softness perfect for portraits and fine photography. Glass is clean.
