George Halas is well known in the world of football. He was a player, a coach who won multiple national championships and was one of the founders of the NFL. It is no surprise that he was one of the initial inductees into the NFL Hall of Fame. Less known about is his short-lived baseball career. He played in college at the University of Illinois as well as in the minor leagues and had a short career with the New York Yankees in 1919. An injury cut that season short and he was replaced in the outfield by Sammy Vick that season and then by Babe Ruth in 1920. Listed here is an amazing vintage autograph from Halas' baseball days. It is an information card filled out and signed by Halas in 1917. In addition to his signature he provides a good bit of his personal information. Such early signatures of Halas are impossible to come by as are items from his short baseball career. This item includes an Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
