Fiction PB: ON AN ODD NOTE by Gerald Kersh. 1958. Ballantine #268 - $11 - (Lincoln City, OR)
Fiction Paperback: ON AN ODD NOTE by Gerald Kersh. 13 short stories by Kersh, a writer in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, known for his character studies of the lower classes of London, mostly considered to be semi-autobiographical (to the extent that he was sued for libel for his first book, JEWS WITHOUT JEHOVAH, in the mid 1930s, because he did not disguise the identities of his characters quite well enough.) One of his fans is Harlan Ellison. Picture shown is of the actual book. Printed 1958. Published by Ballantine Books, New York. 4 1/2 inches wide by 7 inches tall. Illustrated cardstock covers (perfect bound) with green and black printing on yellow spine. 154 pages. Condition: Cover shows light wear, as if the book was recently purchased: glue wrinkling on the spine, light rubbing on the edges, minor dents in the paper of the rear panel, superficial scratch on the front panel, light rubbing across both panels, outer corners creased small. Inner pages are tanning as expected with this sort of paper but are tight to the spine and supple. No writings or stampings within.
