1954 Johnny Cash / Fern Jones Original "I Was There When It Happened" Acetate - $500 - (Canoga Park, CA)
I purchase public storage vaults at auctions when people stop paying their rent. Last year I purchased storage unit of the late Fern Jones. She wrote and recorded "I Was There When It Happened" That Johnny Cash used and sung on his first album with Sun Records in Memphis. The song was also the name of a book about Johnny and sung in the movie about Johnny's life. You can also see a "you tube video" of it and Johnny thanking Fern for the song. Highest bid will own this 1954 Johnny Cash & Fern Jones Original "I Was There When It Happened" Acetate. Yes This Is the Original one!! Might be the only one out there. This only has Fern's voice on it as it was recorded in the studio before Johnny borrowed it. Record has a couple light scratches on it. The other side has the song "My Prayer For The Ones I Love". I also have lots of letters and other music related items including the lost hand wrote songs she said she lost in a interview.
