Analytical Research & Development Chemist - (Duffield, VA)

The Research Analytical Chemist provides laboratory services for the support of research, development, and manufacturing activities mainly in a RD environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing. These support services include devising and executing methods for the analysis of a variety of materials from production processes, competitors, suppliers and internal research using instrumental, physical and wet chemistry techniques: documenting laboratory work in compliance with regulations; preparing and executing method validation protocols; and preparation of draft documents and technical reports. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following; other duties may be assigned. * Analysis of raw materials, intermediates and finished products (foam samples). * Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment (i.e., GC/MS, HPLC, LC/MS, GPC, pH meter). * Upkeep and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments. * Prepare standards and sample solutions, mobile phase as required.
