RARE KEY 1803 S264 R4+ Draped Bust Large Cent NCS Fair Large Date Small Fraction - $2,500 - (Springfield, MO)
Offered by Shawn A. Yancey of Earlycoppercoins, EAC #4647. 1803 S264 Draped Bust large cent, Large Date Small Fraction, R4+. A low-grade FAIR housed in an NCS Details holder. This coin was lot #1104 in the Heritage auction of 04/24/13, where it sold for $2232.50 and it was described as: "1803 1C Large Date, Small Fraction -- Damaged -- NCS. Fair Details. S-264, B-24, High R.4. S-264 is the only die variety that pairs a Large Date obverse with a Small Fraction reverse. Its rarity is presumably due to the lengthy and heavy cracks found on both sides, most notably on the reverse near 10 o'clock. It is the key to a complete collection of Guide Book Draped Bust cent varieties. The present gunmetal-gray example has a readable date and shows much of the wreath and all of ONE CENT. The reverse is moderately granular and shows evidence of cleaning. Our EAC grade Fair 2." YES, this is the ultra-rare Redbook variety with Large Date and Small Fraction, and probably one of the more "affordable" low-grade examples. I offer FREE SHIPPING, so what you bid is what you pay. I offer a 14-day return privilege in the original holder, 100% money-back for any reason, and the return privilege starts on the day you receive the coin from the USPS. Ihank you for bidding - Good Luck!
